Public Consultation on the Amendment of the Radiocommunications (Fees) Regulations 2004 to 2018

The Director of the Department of Electronic Communications, of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy announces the start of a public consultation for the amendment of the Radio Communications (Fees) Regulations 2004 to 2018. This amendment is intended to change the Frequency Rate of the type of calculation of the Charges of the Ground Satellite Stations for transmissions below 6.7 GHz, from 3.7 to 1 and to set a maximum value at the renewal fee of all terrestrial satellite transmissions equal to €6000.The purpose of this modification is to attract new users for broadcasts from terrestrial satellite stations mainly at frequencies below 6.7 GHz as the use of this Zone by Terrestrial Satellite Stations is low.
