Auction for the Grant of an Individual Right to Use the Radio Frequency Spectrum (2100 MHz) for the Establishment and Operation of an Electronic Communications Network for the Provision of Electronic Communications Services (reference code: THE Δ1/2024)
Offering of the Radiocommunication Authorisation
1. In accordance with Regulation 9(4)(a) of the Radiocommunications (Competition and Negotiation Procedures) Regulations 2002, as amended, in the event that the number of selected applicants for participation in the auction procedure (qualified bidders) is equal or less than the number of the individual rights to use radio frequencies (Radiocommunications Authorisations) to be granted, no auction is held, and the Director may, in accordance with Regulation 25 (6)(a), proceed with a negotiation procedure, following a relevant decision of the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy pursuant to Regulation 7(2)(a), that is to negotiate with the selected applicants the fee that they will pay, which cannot be lower than the starting price of the Auction, which is specified in the contest documents.
2. According to the above, the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy has decided to implement the negotiation procedure with the company Cablenet Communication Systems Plc, the only qualified bidder in relation to the said auction.
3. The negotiation procedure with the company Cablenet Communication Systems Plc has been successfully completed and therefore the Director of the Department of Electronic Communications Department offers the said company the Radiocommunication Authorisation, which will be granted if the specific requirements are satisfied within thirty (30) days from the date of this announcement, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 31.1 of the Contest Documents. The fee for the Radiocommunication Authorisation has been agreed at €1.200.000 (one million two hundred thousand euro).
