1st Amendment of Version E3 of the Radio Frequency Plan of the Republic of Cyprus

The Director of the Department of Electronic Communications of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, in accordance with Article 5 of the Radio Communications Law of 2002, as amended, and in the context of the adoption of the following Implementation Decisions of the European Commission:

i. Commission Implementing Decision 2022/172/EU of 7 February 2022 amending Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1538 on the harmonisation of radio spectrum for use by short-range devices within the 874-876 and 915-921 MHz frequency bands.
ii. Commission Implementing Decision 2022/173/EU of 7 February 2022 on the harmonisation of the 900 MHz and 1 800MHz frequency bands for terrestrial systems capable of providing electronic communications services in the Union and repealing Decision 2009/766/EC.
iii. Commission Implementing Decision 2022/179/EU of 8 February 2022 on the harmonised use of radio spectrum in the 5 GHz frequency band for the implementation of wireless access systems including radio local area networks and repealing Decision 2005/513/EC.
iv. Commission Implementing Decision 2022/180/EU of 8 February 2022 amending Decision 2006/771/EC as regards the update of harmonised technical conditions in the area of radio spectrum use for short-range devices.

announces the amendment of the Radio Frequency Plan of the Republic of Cyprus. The amending Radio Frequency Plan enters into force on 24 March 2022.

The amendments to the Radio Frequency Plan of the Republic of Cyprus are presented below:

(a) In Part 1.1 of the Radio Frequency Plan of the Republic of Cyprus, in the radio frequency bands 880-890 MHz, 890-915 MHz, 925-942 MHz, 942-960 MHz, 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz, in the text of the remarks referring to the Terrestrial systems capable of providing electronic communications service, Decisions 2009/766/EC, 2011/251/EU and 2018/637/EU are replaced by Implementing Decision 2022/173 /EU.

(b) In Part 1.1 of the Radio Frequency Plan of the Republic of Cyprus, in the radio frequency bands 5150-5250 MHz 5250-5255 MHz, 5255-5350 MHz, 5470-5570 MHz, 5570-5650 MHz and 5650-5725 MHz, in the text of the remarks referring to the Wireless Access Systems including Radio Local Area Networks (WAS/RLAN), Decisions 2005/513/EC and 2007/90 /EC are replaced by Implementing Decision 2022/179 /EU.

(c) In Part 1.3 of the Radio Frequency Plan of the Republic of Cyprus the Table entitled “National Usage in the Radiofrequency Spectrum 9 kHz up to 1000 GHz for Short Range Devices (SRDs) that are not included in Part 1.1 of the Radiofrequency Plan of the Republic”, is amended as follows:

i. In the frequency bands 874-871.4 MHz, 917.4-919.4 MHz, 916.1-918.9 MHz, 917.3-918.9 MHz and 917.4-919.4 MHz, in the text of the remarks, the Implementing Decision 2022/172/EU is added.

      ii. In all frequency bands, except those referred to in point (c) i above, in the text of the remarks, the Implementing Decision 2022/180/EU is added.
        iii. The following new frequency band is added to the Table.
